This wine was carefully crafted using a meticulous process. First, it was fermented slowly in a stainless steel tank with daily pumpovers. Then, it was aged in once-used 100% American Oak barrels. After completing malolactic fermentation, the wine was racked off its lees and aged for 24 months in barrel. Finally, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
This wine offers aromas of mint, cherry, and eucalyptus. On the palate, you'll find abundant red cherry and raspberry flavors with notes of cinnamon and spice.
Our Paper St. Zinfandel, crafted from the head-trained Dusi clone vines at Paper Street Vineyard, offers an exuberant bouquet of rich berry, black plum, fig, and raisin aromas, beautifully enhanced by hints of star anise and gingerbread spice.
On the palate, you'll find a thick and jammy texture balanced by a vibrant acidity, revealing concentrated flavors of berry, clove, and cinnamon. This Zinfandel was aged for 23 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
As you enter our property, you'll be greeted by rows of Cabernet Sauvignon vines lining both sides of the driveway. We've planted two specific clones of Cabernet, clones 4 and 6, known for their small berries and the ability to produce wines with great structure, depth, and color.
In 2022, we hand-harvested the Cabernet grapes on the morning of September 28th. Following the harvest, the fruit was meticulously hand-sorted to ensure that only the highest quality grapes made it into the fermenter. After fermentation, this limited-production wine was aged in new French and American oak barrels for 22 months.
Deep-pitched dark berry preserve, licorice and floral aromas, with baking spice and cola nuances in the background. Sappy and round on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that are given backbone and lift by a spine of juicy acidity. A smoky nuance appears on the long, spice-driven finish, where velvety tannins provide gentle closing grip.
It is delicious now but will continue to develop beautifully over the next 5-10 years.
The Rich & Rare Mission Angelica is truly a remarkable wine. It has aged in an oak solera, with the base wines coming from the '60 and '63 vintages, for an average of over 30 years. Every year the solera is added to with the newest vintage of young Mission grape Angelica and the new bottling is pulled from the oldest of the barrels. A process that has been going on for generations. It is loaded with toasted hazelnut, butterscotch and maple syrup flavors and balances out with a balancing acidity.
