- 50% Cabernet Sauvignon: The backbone of this blend, providing structure and rich dark fruit notes. This includes 25% estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, lending a unique signature from our own vineyards, and 25% from the renowned Cass Vineyard, celebrated for its exceptional quality.
- 25% Cabernet Franc: Offers aromatic complexity with notes of violets, savory herbs, and a refined elegance. This portion is entirely estate-grown, reflecting our commitment to capturing the distinct characteristics of our land.
- 25% Petit Verdot: Contributes vibrant color, firm tannins, and a hint of spice, adding an intriguing layer of intensity to the finish.

All grapes for this blend were carefully hand-harvested in October 2022 from premier vineyards within the acclaimed Geneseo District of Paso Robles. This specific district is celebrated for its unique microclimates and soils, which are ideal for cultivating the varietals in this blend, ensuring optimal ripeness and concentration.

Meticulous winemaking elevates the exceptional fruit. Night harvesting ensured optimal coolness and flavor preservation. Following a two-day cold soak, the grapes fermented in open-top fermenters for two weeks. Gentle pressing and malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels were followed by 24 months of aging. Bottled unfined and unfiltered to maintain its purity.

Rich and complex flavors define this exceptional wine. Boasting a 15% alcohol content, the 1888 Red Blend offers pronounced aromas and flavors of black cherry and currant, interwoven with hints of chocolate, mint, and a subtle spice of black pepper.
